John J. Jones is the Managing Director of J3 Capital.  Mr. Jones has been a senior executive, general counsel, board member and advisor for several high-profile public companies for more than a decade. 

In addition to his position as Managing Director of J3 Capital, he is currently Executive Vice President of Imaging Advantage LLC, a radiology services business.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Topps Company, a publicly traded sports card and confectionery products company, as a result of a successful proxy contest.  He is also an advisor to Legal Advantage LLC, which provides outsourced intellectual property, litigation support and other legal services for top American law firms and legal departments.  In early 2007, he was nominated by Express Scripts to the Board of Directors of Caremark Rx Inc. in connection with Express Scripts' $26 billion hostile takeover bid. In late 2007,he was nominated by Roche to the Board of Directors of Ventana Medical Systems Inc., in connection with Roche's $3 billion hostile takeover bid.

In 2006 he was a senior advisor and lobbyist for Trump Entertainment Resorts in its efforts to change the Rhode Island Constitution and build a luxury destination casino in Rhode Island. 

Until October 2005, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Argosy Gaming Company, an NYSE-listed casino operator which was sold to Penn National Gaming in a $2.2 billion transaction.

Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of RCN Corporation, a Nasdaq listed leading national facilities-based competitive telecommunications company for approximately 4 1/2 years.  RCN is a leading facilities-based competitive provider of bundled phone, cable and internet services in major metropolitan areas. Concurrently, for 2 1/2 years, he was also Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, a Nasdaq-listed incumbent and competitive telephone carrier.

For 2 years prior to that time, he was Vice President and General Counsel of Designer Holdings Ltd., an NYSE-listed apparel manufacturer which owned the Calvin Klein Jeanswear business, among other businesses.  Designer Holdings was sold to The Warnaco Group in December 1997.

Mr. Jones was a corporate associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom from 1991 through 1995, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions.

He attended Harvard Business School in 1995 before taking a leave of absence to conduct the initial public offering of Designer Holdings. 

Mr. Jones graduated summa cum laude from Boston University School of Law.  He has a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University, and resides in Manhattan.

He has had substantial experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, business development, securities law, regulatory matters, litigation and employment matters, and has been a strategic advisor to many boards of directors and senior executives in various industries

Mr. Jones is an avid pilot and regularly flies his Cirrus SR-22.
